Lol at Shukudai-kun 92 (yesterday's). Just...lol.
(no, really...)
I've got to clear my head, so I'll write the things I like most about Arashi, the group and the individual members.
I think I'll start with each member:
MatsuJun - He's just...pretty. Very pretty. He wears dorky glasses well. His hair and clothes are practically always perfect. Aside from certain concert costumes, I've never seen pictures of him wearing anything that doesn't look good. He seems to be a very career-minded young gent, which is good. Good for him! *applauds* He seems to be a bit of a brat where putting up with Ohmiya's uh - fanservice is concerned, and it's funny.
Aibaka - He's all smiles (usually). He's a lanky creature, perfect for making clothes look good. He's just...Aiba.
The Sho - He's very cool. In that sort of "I'm really a dork, but I look cool, right?" way. His rapping is pretty damn good, considering he's in a boy band, not an American gang. Also, he's so smart!
Nino - Adorable in that annoying ferret way. He has puppy dog eyes, forsrs. He's constantly attached to Ohno. He can play guitar and write his own songs (If he should so choose to do). He seems to be more attached to his DS than I am to mine, which is rather cool.
Ohno - Just...wow. All that motion and energy out of one little spaced-out dude?! He seems so cool in Maou CMs, and his art exhibition seems to be pretty neat and a little trippy. Wicked cool. And his voice. Just... He's really impressed me lately. I guess I kinda overlooked him as "that guy that Nino's constantly attached to" before.
ARASHI: They are a boy band. I loved N*sync and BSB back in the day, so finding another boy band to occupy a bit of my time was quite thrilling. They're much more androgynous and therefore less unapproachable/unrelate-to-able and "heterosexual male stereotype" than BSB and N*sync were (and they were pretty androgynous back in the day). They make clothes look good. They're very entertaining on variety shows. They sing happy songs, which is a nice change from the alternative I listen to on American radio. They are sparkley happy rainbows personified (in concerts).
And now my brain is empty.
I broke down and ordered One Love off of YA today. *sigh*
Oh, 嵐 you breakz mah heart and steals mah monies. fer srs
*pulls out a harmonica*
Ah ain't got no moneh

BROKE ASS fan gir-ul BLU~UES!
That song's called the "Broke JE Fangirl Blues"
LMAO, I'm so stupid.
I have figured it out! Thanks to the July 08 issue of with. 松潤 is so pissy because he's secretly hungry. He looks damn near anorexic in with July 08, so he must be angry because everyone else eats and he doesn't/thinks he can't.
Ever see pictures of him when he was younger in the Juniors? He had some srs squishie sqrrl cheeks. The kind that old grannies would absolutely trip over themselves to grab and pinch. When he was in 君はペット, he still had a remotely squishable face. Now, he's extremely skinny, and his face is no longer squishy like that T____T. He still looks good, just...someone donate a sandwich to the Save-a-Starving-Japanese-Idol fund for him or something, 'cause there will be a point when he gets so skinny that he's no longer pretty.
Hell, even in last fall's photoshoots, he had a kinda-sorta-squishable face.
Maybe he's actually not anorexic, just working himself to death, like I babbled about a post or two back.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T WURK YERSELF TO DETH!!!! *cries and babbles incoherently* STAY/GET SQUISHY, JUN!

*eyes roll back in head, tilts backwards, then hits the floor at 90 mph with a very loud thwack* *dust cloud shoots up into air*
In the most recent scans I've seen, Aibaka is not smiling.
WHYFOR TEH BAKA NO SMILE?!- *incoherent confusion/disappointment on keyboard*
I think that's like one of the signs of the apocalypse. When Aibaka isn't all smiles.
Though, I have to admit, with every sexy-ish photoshoot, I'm more and more of an Aiba fan. HE'S SO COOOOOOOL. I guess it may not be a sign of the apocalypse since he's so suddenly!cool.
But, of course, my favorite pictures of Aiba are when he's smiling. I think that's what converted me over to liking Aiba in the first place - the fact that he's always smiling and seems to have fun with his job at least a bit.
'Cause really, think about it, there's got to be some point where idols get somewhat tired of being idols. Sure, I bet the money helps stave off the annoyance, but who wants to be held in by all these odd rules about how to behave and forced to smile pretty for photoshoots all the time. Plus, the whole thing about being an idol kind of being...well, unmanly. That's got to bother them sometimes. I mean, grown men in fashion shoots and in rainbow outfits singing utterly happy, silly songs for a bunch of silly young females? That can't be an honest representation of THEM, can it? (Though I have to admit, it is entertaining, and the happiness, and non-depressedness of their songs is one of the reasons I happen to listen to their music, not just ogle them in magazines.)
The amount of photoshoots Arashi have been doing recently is staggering. God, I hope they don't overwork themselves. I mean, an American boy band, say, N*sync, put out what, one or two photobooks a year, maybe. If THAT. And one album a year at MAX (with an actual photoshoot for album insert/lyrics thing completely optional). And maybe they would show up on TRL once or twice to promote their CD when it first came out, and they would probably have some sort of tour once a year. Not saying N*sync were lazy, but compared to Arashi... I mean, there's never a stop to the stream of Arashi stuffs, or maybe it's just this year is just extra insane...But still! I almost feel like I'm going to get sick of them, with how much Arashi stuff there is to keep up with. How DO the scan-posting, uchiwa-pic-finding, TV show-providing fans do it? Jesus, Arashi is going to work not only themselves, but also the fans to death. XDDDD
*shot* Yeah, I know blasphemy, that I could possibly get sick of them *shot again* , but still, that's how staggering the amount of stuff they're doing is. I guess that's why we like them, though. 'Cause they're always out there in the public, providing us with entertainment and eye candy. I suppose we overseas should all thank them by buying as much as we can, legally that is.
I'm absolutely in awe of how much time these guys must devote to work. (Then again, that could be 'cause I devote about one day out of every 14 to work, and even then I halfass it rather spectacularly. - I'm a prime example of FAIL, and sloth too, while we're at it. XDDDDD)
In conclusion:
- Holy !@%^, Aiba is suddenly cool! But I wish he'd be a little bakawaii in photoshoots again soon
- Arashi (and MatsuJun in particular) are workaholics, and I hope their health remains with them throughout this insane work schedule of theirs
- A dilemma: to work harder, inspired by Arashi to do so; or to laze about and stare at Arashi pictures XDDDDD
- Oh, and Ohno is suddenly!badass in that preview for Maou (his new drama). Whoo! Now I'm going to be converted to being an Ohno fan too?? Jeez, guys... (I'm a sheeple, huh....)
Any 嵐 fan of more than 4 minutes knows that, though.
I have to admit, I was originally Jun-bait, but 大宮 was what really got me into 嵐. I mean, when you're a fan of fanservice, and the boy band you happened to like after seeing a performance of Love so sweet just happens to include a ninja-esque butt grab in the first live performance of what turns out to be your favorite song of theirs of all time...well, it's pretty much instant love ね?
So, needless to say, reading about 大野's love-note-confession-type-thing in Winkup June 08...well, that just made my year. A few weeks before that, when I actually read the romaji lyrics/translation to Gimmick Game, I -along with anyone else with a pulse- happened to notice that ニノ seemed to be writing about his 大ちゃん.
So, pretty needless to say, reading this, which is a snippet from Arashi's bit in Monthly Television June 2008 made my year x2035490790795.
What I gathered from it: they're talking about Gimmick Game and Nino goes "kore, ohno-san no uta desu." HE ADMITS IT'S OHNO'S SONG!
Lmao, and the next line, Jun goes "Hahaha...I feel ill." (You know, like in the "OMG U GUYS JUST EWWWWW" way.
Oh, and of course there was more 大宮ラブラブ in Winkup June 08.
And I've been keeping this massive flail in for like...2 days. *releases pent up flail and accompanying giggles*
OH NO! I FOUND A TRANSLATION OF THE MONTHLY TV ARTICLE!!!
OHMIYA CANNOT BRAKE UP ITI'S AGAINSTHELAEWSOFPHYSHCISKDFJSDLKJF!!!
*covers ears and goes "Lalalalalalalalalala~!"*
...fine, you may be broken up for the five minutes that that interview was written, but WHEN YOU SEE OHCHAN'S BIT IN WINKUP YOU WILL INSTANTLY GET BACK TOGETHER! LIKE MAGNETS!!!!
MAAAAAGNEEEEEETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
</incoherent stupidity aka fangirling>
Yes!!! Their smiles are the best accessories ever. Somehow their smiles enable them to pull of rainbow-colored catastrophes that most... read more
